Born in 1937, Roland Berger studied corporate administration in Hamburg and Munich. After working for an American consultant for five years he formed his own company, in Munich in 1967. Roland Berger Strategy Consultants is today one of the largest consultancy companies in the world, coming in the top 3 in Europe and is amongst the tem largest in the world, with 130 partners and 1700 employees distributed over 21 offices in Europe, Asia and the Americas. It has 15 Global Competence Centres and, in 1998, the Roland Berger Consultants Academic Network, an association which involves 15 universities, was set up.
