Educated in the Higher School of Commerce, Jean-Philippe Courtois entered Microsoft in 1984, after having worked in a French software SME. He was director general of Microsoft in France, CEO for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and also worked in the head office, in Redmond, as World Vice President for marketing. He held various positions in Microsoft. As President of Microsoft International, Jean-Philippe Courtois leads the company in all regions of the world, with the exception of the USA and Canada., which includes Europe, the Middle East, Japan, China, Asia Pacific and Latin America. He represents Microsoft in the Institute Montaigne and is co-Chairman of the Global Digital Divide Initiative Task Force” launched by the World Economic Forum. Created in 1975, Microsoft today has 100 subsidiary companies throughout the world, employing 71 thousand employees and with a turnover of 44 billion dollars.
