With a degree in Finance from the University of Uppsalda, and as a post-graduate in Management from Harvard, Karl-Henrik Sundström has been the number two in Ericsson since 2003, accumulating the functions of Vice Chairman with those of CFO. Prior to this he was head of “Business Unit Global Services” , CEO of Ericsson in Australia and director of the company in Argentina. With 56 thousand employees throughout the world, the Swedish Ericsson is world leader in telecommunications equipment and services for fixed and mobile operators. Around one thousand networks in 140 countries use Ericsson equipment, which is used for processing forty percent of the telephone calls made in the world. The company has strived to create open standards and systems. It has one of the vastest portfolios of intellectual property: 20 thousand patents, to which an average of 500 new ones are added per year.
